Portable residual chlorine colorimeter - handheld portable residual chlorine analyzer
Product details

Portable residual chlorine colorimeter is used for single wavelength colorimetric determination and analysis. This colorimeter is specifically designed to determine the concentration of residual chlorine and total chlorine in water samples, with a concentration range of 0-5.00mg/L.

The LCD screen directly displays the concentration of residual chlorine or total chlorine in mg/L. The portable residual chlorine analyzer is powered by 5 No. 5 batteries. Due to the power-saving mode set in the software of this instrument, the battery can last for more than 40 hours.

After completing the measurement process, please press the<On/Off>button to cut off the power.

The instrument is equipped with two dedicated colorimetric dishes, which can be used to measure 50 times of residual chlorine and 50 times of total chlorine as two measuring reagents. It has 5 No. 5 batteries, an instrument manual, a cloth, 2 dedicated colorimetric dishes, a sampling bottle, and a pipette, all of which are placed in a plastic box.

PortableResidual chlorine analyzerTechnical parameter specifications:

Measurement range: 0.00~5.00mg/L

Light source: silicon photodiode

Wavelength: 520-522nm

Accuracy: ± 0.05mg/L (measured value<1.00mg/L) ± 0.10mg/L (measured value>1.00mg/L)

Method: Using the national standard DPD method, residual chlorine or total chlorine reacts with the DPD reagent to make the sample solution red.

Usage environment: temperature 0-40 ℃, relative humidity 0-90% (no condensation)

Battery life: 1.5 × 5V, over 40 hours.

Shutdown: After using the colorimeter, press "on/off" to turn it off.

Size:215*68*70mm

Weight: 200g (including battery)

Battery installation

Press the two poles of the battery tightly against the two ends of the battery cap, place it in the battery slot, and cover the battery cover.

Characteristics of portable residual chlorine analyzer:

1. No movable parts, high sensitivity (lower limit of measurement is 0.05mg/L);

2. Wide dynamic linear range (0.05-5.00mg/L);

3. Low sample and reagent usage, fast analysis speed (measuring one sample only takes 2 minutes);

4. Pulse power supply, low power consumption (4 No. 5 batteries can be used for more than 40 hours);

5. Small size, light weight, and easy operation (the whole machine weighs 200g)

Portable residual chlorine analyzer (residual chlorine colorimeter) operation process (residual chlorine determination):

1. Use a straw to draw an appropriate amount of water sample for testing and inject it into a colorimetric tube.

2. Use a cloth to dry the water droplets on both sides of the colorimetric dish, ensuring that there are no residual water droplets on either side of the dish.

3. Place the blank sample colorimetric dish into the colorimetric tank.

4. Cover the lid and press the "zero" button to adjust to zero

When "0000" is displayed, it indicates that zeroing is complete.

6. Take 10ml of the water sample to be tested and add residual chlorine DPD reagent to it.

7. Shake well and mix the reaction.

8. After 30 seconds of reagent reaction, use a pipette to draw an appropriate amount of solution and place it in a colorimetric dish.

9. Wipe the colorimetric dish dry to ensure that there are no water droplets remaining on both sides of the dish.

10. Place the colorimetric dish containing the dpd reagent into the colorimetric tank for the water sample to be tested.

11. Cover the colorimeter lid and press the "Read" button to read.

When "0.09" is displayed, it indicates that the measurement is complete.

Precautions for using portable residual chlorine colorimeter:

1. After using the colorimeter, please press the "on/off" button to turn off the power.

In order to ensure accurate measurement, it is necessary to ensure that there is no solution or fingerprint on the outer wall of the colorimetric tube. Any liquid flowing into the colorimetric tank may damage the instrument.

3. If the concentration of the water sample exceeds the range of the colorimeter, please dilute the water sample and re measure the value. Multiply the measured value by the dilution factor to obtain the concentration value of the water sample.

Interference factors

The following factors can cause interference:

1. Oxidants: Bromine, Iodine, Bromine Amine, Iodine Amine, Ozone, Hydrogen Peroxide, Chromate, Manganese Oxide.

2. Reducing agent: Nitrite.

If the alkalinity of water exceeds 250mg/L or the acidity exceeds 150mg/L, the measured value will be unstable during the measurement process, and the sample color will disappear or become very light. Adding diluted HCl or NaOH to the sample for neutralization reaction can solve this problem.

Precautions for residual chlorine determination:

After adding the reagent, tighten the lid and shake thoroughly to dissolve the reagent. If necessary, the tablets can be crushed for better dissolution.

Before inserting the colorimetric tube into the colorimetric slot, the surface of the colorimetric tube must be wiped clean with mirror paper or soft paper.

3. After the measurement is completed, the colorimetric tube must be cleaned immediately to prevent contamination and corrosion of the colorimetric bottle.

If a solid or solution enters the colorimetric tank, it must be wiped clean before being placed in the colorimetric tube.

5. Standardizing the time required for each step is crucial for improving the precision of the measurement. The color development can be stable for about 3 minutes at a concentration of 0.5mg/L, and for about 1 minute at a concentration of 3.00mg/L.

After the colorimetric tube is used, if the inner wall is dirty, a cleaning solution can be prepared by mixing 3mol/L hydrochloric acid and ethanol in a 1:1 ratio. Then, the cleaning solution can be poured into the colorimetric tube and shaken for 15 seconds to achieve the cleaning purpose.

Calibration and correction of residual chlorine meter:

Handheld portable residual chlorine colorimeter has been calibrated before leaving the factory and can be used directly, saving you the time and cost necessary to create calibration curves.
